The Phantom Menace

When I was young, I enjoyed watching the Phantom menace. A couple of memories I have are of me watching The Phantom Menace.

I still really like it. My favorite scenes are of The Darth Maul duel back at Naboo. Darth Maul is one of my top 5 favorite Siths, and my favorite character in this movie. The horns on his head, the red and black markings all over his body, and his unique Lightsaber makes him a scary villain, and one we do not want to meet in are paths in real life. Than again, we don’t want to meet any Sith at all. Even how he talks very little makes him seem creepy. Darth Maul is one of the biggest reasons why I love this movie.

I also really like Jar-jar Binks. Most people hate him with all their love for the franchise, but I grew up thinking he was funny. I still really like him. But when I heard about the Theory that he’s a Sith Lord, I loved the stupid Gungan even more! But if he is a Sith, and either he’s using the force to disguise his voice, or he’s an evil Sith Lord with a squeaky voice. Jar-Jar Binks is my second favorite character in this movie.

I liked Qui-gon Jinn. He wasn’t the coolest character in the film, but he had his moments. According to the Star Wars chief, Qui-gon’s first lines in the film are greater than the do or do not quite from Yoda! A wondrous moment.

I thought the Podrace was a bit long. I liked the race, but it felt a bit long. When Anakin won, he gave hope to those who don’t have hope, thinking about Shmi Skywalker right now.

I also thought Yoda looked a little creepy in this one. I know they tried to make him young, but couldn’t they just get one of the original yoda’s and make him look younger? Oh, my gosh.

The Phantom Menace is one of my top 5 favorite Star Wars films.

I give this movie an: A
